Dawn Meditation
by Mickey Kenny

One morning i awoke

with the moon sleeping between my lips--

                    a soft pearl.

 I remained silent,

so as not to disturb the white-gown dreams

that swayed between my red lips.

I rose out of my bed to get a glass of water--

I've spent many nights adoring the sky and the sea

I've learned the throat of the full moon can drink 7 oceans.

I brought out 7 glasses of salt water, then sat by the window--

waiting for the sunrise to wake

the moon between my red lips.

My name is Mickey Kenny. I enjoy nature and empty journals. I am kind of discouraged by society and full journals. I very much enjoy SLAM poetry. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska. Now I live in Bellingham, Washington. I go to Fairhaven College-it is beautiful. I love to learn, I hope things continue as such. I am 22 years of age.
