Fairhaven College at Western Washington University
www.wwu.edu/~fhc

Fairhaven College is an innovative unit of Western Washington University. The curriculum is interdisciplinary, issue-oriented, emphasizes both community and self-direction, and serves students of widely diverse ages, ethnic origins, academic goals, and life experiences. Fairhaven provides a reflective learning environment to support students in building their concentrations or programs and in summarizing and evaluating their learning.

Fairhaven faculty have active research projects and teaching expertise in a number of areas, including seabirds, acoustic biology, cross-cultural aspects of depression, screenwriting, reflective practice, Indigenous Peoples, nature writing and ethnicity and nationalism.

Fairhaven College has launched a new Center - The Center for Law, Diversity and Justice.  The Center supports the work of students, faculty and community members around law, diversity and justice issues.  Regardless of whether students choose to study at Fairhaven or pursue a major elsewhere at Western Washington University, the Center serves as an essential resource for pulling together the various threads of justice work taking place at WWU, Fairhaven and throughout the diverse communities in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

See www.wwu.edu/~fhc for more information and a current course catalog.
