Re-appropriation-Cruz

In a recent class, Humanities and the Expressive Arts , we studied primitivism and the influence that non-European art had in shaping the aesthetics of European art in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Re-appropriation was created in response to European appropriation of these art forms, particularly the influence that African art had on Pablo Picasso's work.

Samonte Cruz is a Fairhaven student, graduating fall 2003. He says, "My studies include audio-engineering, music and social sciences, including psychology and economics. I am particularly interested in the relationship between the larger society and identity development in marginalized groups."
