J. J. Stein was raised in the cultural mecca of Alabama.  His first interaction with photography came before day one -- a sonogram portrait was taken of him swimming around his mother's womb.  In addition to owning a muddled sense of chronology, J. J. enjoys radiating an illusion of creativity and competence.  He plans to graduate New College soon, possibly in two weeks.
