Ari Iaccarino is a native of Davenport, Iowa, and is studying educational psychology and Spanish at Marlboro College. He is currently living his life-long dream of residing and volunteering in Medellín, Colombia. Mr. Iaccarino is also studying motivation in the English classroom while having the opportunity to work with economically and socially disadvantaged children through Fundación Social Antorchas de Vida. As well as teaching, he visits Barrio Triste, a poor neighborhood in the middle of Medellín, and helps hand out free food and informational resources to needy families and young people severely addicted to drugs. When Ari is not volunteering, he regularly visits the Mezquita de Medellín, or the Medellín Mosque, plays sitar, saxophone, guitar, and dances salsa and merengue.
