Genevieve Kluender’s artistic statement: “Upon creating my senior project at Prescott College I realized a distinct reason as to why I’m a painter, which is to be as true to self as possible. Painting is more essential to me than speaking or touch. Since I paint as a reflection and need within self, I chose to use the idea of identity reformulation because I think all humans do this in one form or another. My paintings depict personality traits combined with emotions and concepts consisting of turmoil, frustration, intuition, happiness, undefined beginnings, confusion, envy and reflection.”
